Experience WordGlyph, an educational puzzle where words come to life as vibrant geometric shapes. During the Dutch Design Week, various people engaged with it by choosing a word or question, and solve it by assembling wooden glyphs that transform letters into colourful, graphical designs.
Intergenerational connectivity is central to WordGlyph’s design. By assembling the pieces to form words or solve graphical puzzles from flashcards featuring vocabulary and general knowledge questions, participants enhance cognitive development, fine motor skills, and creativity while fostering meaningful connections across generations. The game creates a platform where children and adults learn together, strengthening social bonds and promoting cultural exchange. This shared learning experience mirrors the Symbiocene emphasis on connectivity and communal well-being. By integrating education with play in an interactive manner, WordGlyph contributes to cognitive and emotional growth, enhancing overall well-being through enjoyable and meaningful interactions. In essence, Sara Renani’s work embodies the Symbiocene ideals by fostering sustainable, intergenerational engagement and harmony with nature through thoughtful design and meaningful play, where visitors boost their imagination and flow through a playful mix of colour, shape, and language. Through interaction with the artist, they further help it grow by providing feedback, and as a reward they receive a digital card of their customized WordGlyph by email.
