Michiel creates mesmerizing films and audiovisual installations, with sound taking centre stage. In ‘It’s Alive!’, he bring visitors into the mysterious mesopelagic zone, 200-1000 meters deep, where underwater creatures use bioluminescence and magnetic navigation to survive in near-darkness. Through flux of limited light and underwater sounds, visitors are brought to the wonders of the deep sea and its hidden wonders.
