‘re-c(O)unting: self-exploring bodies, stories, laboratories’ is an experimental film essay presented as both an extended film installation and a live, body-based performance. In the lecture performance, the artists mix film excerpts with spoken word, live microscope and endoscopic camera footage, and interactions with organic materials on stage. The visuals are projected onscreen, accompanied by a live soundscape by Concepcion Huerta.
Created by BAD Award 2023 winners Pamela Varela and Ella Hebendanz in collaboration with Joris Koene, this live performance is the highlight of the 2023 Bio Art and Design exhibition Plotting Patterns and Portals, captivating audiences at its December premiere. On popular demand, it had one final showing on Sunday, March 10, at 3:00 p.m. at MU Hybrid Art House.
