A project by Seaspark with Xu Ben Zhang, Poorva Shrivastava, Karlijn Besse. They present glitters and holographic sheets made from seaweed and other natural biopolymers that offer a safe, fully biodegradable alternative to conventional glitter, which is often composed of plastic and metallic layers that pollute water and soil. Alongside them, structural colours reveal how light alone can create vivid iridescence and colour, without using any harmful pigments or metals. Together, these materials reimagine shimmer that can be used for its beauty without causing pollution.
