GROWinK merges CMYK inkjet technology with fungi and bacteria, transforming print into a living, self-decomposing medium. From posters to textiles, these prints no longer end as waste; instead, they evolve, fade, and return to nature.
Petroleum-based dyes are replaced with fungal pigments, with each hue emerging from a specific stage of fungal growth, influenced by biological rhythms and environmental conditions. Embedded in the ink are dormant bacterial spores that remain inactive until exposed to humidity or landfill-like environments. Once activated, these spores break down synthetic substrates, converting them into nutrients that nourish soil ecosystems.
GROWinK is more than just ink – it’s a biological interface where color breathes, communication decomposes, and every print becomes part of a regenerative cycle, highlighting how biotechnology can reshape materials and production toward ecological renewal.
