Written in Decay: Traces of Entanglement

Written in Decay is a book made from Vivomer, a biodegradable bioplastic derived from bacteria. Its pages are returned to soils collected from different environments across London, where microorganisms gradually transform the material. As it degrades, textures, colours, and traces emerge, turning decay into a form of writing. The work looks beyond sustainability to explore bacterial life and death, asking where life goes when it ends, whether it ever truly disappears, and whether language belongs only to humans.
