Producing silk with worms is an ancient practice. Derya Irkdas Dogu is exploring another way to harvest the silk, instead of boiling out the cocoons she is letting the Bombyx spin their threats on other surfaces and therefore stretching the possibilities of the creating process. After finishing their natural cycle they are placed in 3d printed cocons, to turn into a moth.
