Cradle-to-cradle artist Dorieke Schreurs observes the art world around her and sees that it painfully lags behind in terms of sustainability. She feels that the gap between nature and arts is becoming worryingly big. So for her own work, she applies a progressive way of thinking and finds raw, natural materials for art production where no one else would look. For the Talent Pressure Cooker, she will take this process to a next level and conduct research on developing a fully renewable paint. With this, she aims to leave a great impact on the art supply business and mobilize artists to tweak their artistic process into a more down-to-earth, humble approach.
For her work for the Talent Pressure Cooker of 2018 – Art of Color – she has been searching for different ways to use materials, expanding possibilities, creating a foundation for sustainable development in the world of color and art. In this research project she is especially searching for bio-based solutions for petrochemical acrylic artist paint.
