Students from Fontys – Creative Economy unveiled ‘The Wall of Connection’ during the Dutch Design Week, as part of our Crossover Lab – Inclusivity and Collecting Cultures program. In their exploration of concepts and methods to foster connections and create a more inclusive world, the students developed a prototype featuring BioCards adorned with pre-made images of petri dishes, deliberately devoid of underlying context. It is part of their overarching research to see how light and life sciences can connect people.

Visitors engaged in the project were encouraged to personalize these BioCards as they saw fit. Subsequently, these cards were posted on a giant wall and they participated in brief interviews to evaluate the outcomes. The revealed answers proved to be quite intriguing!
