“Can waste paper, local clay, and eggshells transform into sustainable design elements?” With ‘Chakr’, Juhi Chaand tries to answer this question. In Sanskrit, Chakr means wheel, which represents continuous movement and the cyclical nature of energy (prana). The project is an exploration of conscious design, intertwining vernacular practices with modern sustainability, emphasizing the importance of raw material exploration. Chaand’s collection of hand-built objects made from the aforementioned waste products explores sustainability complexities and raw material exploration in modern design.
