Kim van den Belt studies product and material design at Academie Minerva in Groningen. Van den Belt is someone who considers nature as an inexhaustible source of inspiration in product and material design.
She believes that solutions to actual problems are already present in nature for those people who dare to approach these problems from a different point of view. Her research is about the development of new sustainable CO2 filters made out of a stone type olivine and photosynthetic algae to create bicarbonate solutions. Exploring the possibility to design a circular solution with natural, local ingredients.
