‘Natureculture hacking’ investigates both practical and philosophical aspects of hacking, resulting in five design principles applied to studio GROOVIDO’s Arcade Chair. Grass is planted in the iconic Pac-Man maze, gradually growing to reshape it into a unique, lasting pattern. As the grass completes its life cycle, the roots remain, binding the seat and transforming it into a functional chair. Through the see-through panel at the seat’s back, visitors can see the pathways of the roots.

The work creates a playful intersection of opposing forces—nature and culture, human and non-human, digital and physical, organic and manufactured, ephemeral and enduring—highlighting transformation and coexistence.
