Nino Gontcharova is a social-oriented artist who aims to investigate the unseen connections between people. Connections that go further than concepts like ‘identity’ alone. Her vision is of a connected society that focuses on its similarities instead of its differences. Nino believes that we as humans are already connected, we only have to become aware of this fact. For the Dutch Design Week of 2018, she invites the public to experience this connection in a fascinating experiment.

Field of Connection is an interactive bio-feedback installation which stimulates and examines interpersonal connections. The installation draws upon your heartbeat and the principle of heart synchronisation for the purpose of visualizing these connections. Do you have to belong in order to feel connected?
