Talent Juhi Chaand from India created “Chakr”, which is a collection of hand built object made from waste paper, egg shells, clay soil, and natural binders. It is an invitation to surrender to mother nature and work with her instead of against her, in times of the climate crisis. On the 22nd of October, participants had the opportunity to sculpt and mould their own pieces to take home, using paper clay. Paper clay is versatile, strong and lightweight. To create sturdier builds, flour could be added as well. The handmade clay works just as well as conventional air-dried clay but it is coarser in texture. People of all ages joined in, and due to the success of the first workshop, a second one was held on the 30th!
