“How can urban environments effectively harvest rainwater?” Shaakira Jassat’s ‘Aquatecture’ addresses this dilemma with a compact and modular water harvesting system. Designed for urban settings, it can be integrated as a façade panel on buildings or as standalone elements in landscapes, transforming water harvesting into a feature of urban architecture. Currently, in the research and development phase at the Bio Art Laboratory, ‘Aquatecture’ represents Jassat’s blend of architectural background and experimental design philosophy, aiming to create sustainable solutions that resonate with the landscape and urban fabric.
