Shabrina Kusumah

One of the major components of our blood is Haemoglobin, which is an iron-containing protein that carries oxygen thoughout the body. Even though it is made of iron, our blood is NOT ferromagnetic. But what if it was?

In Shabrina Kusumah her project, the process of magnetizing blood and how its flow can be controlled through electromagnetic fields is demonstrated. In real life, having magnetic blood inside your body is extremely dangerous for your health. If you were magnetic, you would explode inside an MRI machine, your blood circulation would be disrupted, and you could die. Shabrina Kusumah hopes to raise awareness of the biological processes of the human physiology and to create a sense of appreciation towards our perfectly designed body.
