To introduce children to nature and biomimicry, BioArt Laboratories has prepared a workshop for them on bees and their honeycomb structures. The workshop is based on the Dutch classic ‘Erik en het kleine insectenboek’, by Godfried Bomans. In this book insects talk to the protagonist, whereby these conversations learn the children about the insects.

During the workshop the children are introduced to the book, bees, and hexagon shapes and honeycomb structures. The children themselves experimented with creating beautiful structures with these hexagon shapes, exploring the many advantages this shape offers for strong and optimal structures.
