Whippomorpha is an audio installation by Supertopia and a Reversed Evolution Project, in which whales and hippopotamuses search for their shared ancestor. Set within a protected breeding area at Bio Art Laboratories, the work uses sound to make an otherwise invisible investigation present and reveal the hidden world beneath the water. Visitors enter not an exhibition space, but a research environment where the presence of an unknown organism can only be sensed indirectly.

Machteld Zee and Michiel Keller are founders of Supertopia, a foundation focused on creating art+science projects. Michiel is an audio and film maker and Machteld is a multidisciplinary artist. Supertopia is a foundation for speculative art, tech and nature, founded by film and audio maker Michiel Keller and researcher/artist Machteld Zee.
