It’s a sunny late-summer monday at bioart village as we are hosting a team from Eindhoven. Leaving the office for certain events and meetings can be inspiring and give some fresh imput. The STRP team thought the same.
STRP is an organization based in the city’s area Strijp. Their goal is to set up an open dialogue with the public, artists, designers and other creatives and thinkers about changes which are necessary in order to achieve a healthy ecology and economy. Focusing on the relationship between people, experimental technology, society and our future. What better place to discuss business than at BioArt lab.
Most of them arrived by bike, ready to have an inspirational day filled with presentations and discussions made by their co-workers. Not only did the team discuss business, a little look around the curiosity room and the terrain providing the team with some new inspiration. Leaving the office and the space can be inspiring in many different ways. Discovering initiatives around the corner of the office is great. Seeing their visions slowly developing into reality is both interesting and inspiring. Changing a rough side into a self-sustainable exhibition, lab, and lecture place requires passion and teamwork. One of the team members from STRP pointed out:
‘This place is really unique, close to the city, but the woods make it feel like it’s its own universe.’
Bioart village indeed became a little universe in which we provide facilities needed by creative minds and connect with sustainability. A little tour showed the STRP team how we are restoring this location and creating self sustainable solutions. Along-side providing young artists and designers with a place to do research and exhibit their work. Our team helps and supervises artists and designers, by thinking about their designs and products and offering expertise about lab work. This place holds more! Our beautiful garden is a place for ecological experiments. Home to our animals, plants, fungi and azolla fountain.
At the end of the day the team had a small dinner outside. Together on the big table they thanked us for welcoming them into our village and the nice and productive day they had.
