Yi Zhang’s project uses human hair as a sensory and symbolic medium to trace human impact in urban environments from a more-than-human perspective. Through videos, workshops, and tactile hair mats made from discarded salon hair, visitors encounter hair’s overlooked persistence: its ecological presence, slow decay process, and harmful effects on ecosystems, while rethinking waste, intimacy, and entanglement across species.
