Sam is a visual artist exploring the possibilities of analog photography beyond traditional chemistry. With Root Developer, he explores analog photography using roots and plants as active image-making agents. Rhubarb, burdock, and dandelion connect natural chemistry with photographic processes, where growth and extraction merge. The project investigates slowness and collaboration with plants—how we can immerse ourselves in materials, processes, and time while the darkroom transforms into a living ecosystem.
