Secrets of Superhero Science

After the 1st edition of the “Secrets of superhero science” symposium at the International Festival of Technology in Delft, BioArt Laboratories proudly hosted Barry Fitzgerald for a second edition in the Veem Building (Strijp-S) in Eindhoven during the Dutch Design Week on Friday the 27th of October.

Have you ever wanted a superpower? And have you ever dreamt of being a superhero? If you’ve answered ‘yes’ to either of these questions, then prepare to be astounded by Barry Fitzgerald (BW Science). Fitzgerald is a TU Delft research scientist and author of the book “Secrets of Superhero Science”, and during the Secrets of Superhero Science symposium in 2017 he showcased some fascinating ideas and how they could be used to develop superhero technologies in the future.

We had an amazing afternoon with our young science heroes and their parents. Debating the super powers of our favorite super heroes is both fun and educational! Many thanks for the Superhero – Supervillian duo Barry Fitzgerald and Laurens Landeweerd that led us through the afternoon. And a heroic thank you to Sint Trudo for allowing us to hold the kids debate at their exhibit HONDERD.

And what an introduction by Barry Fitzgerald! The second Secrets of Superhero Science symposium started with a spectacular revelation: Barry Fitzgerald’s secret super power is that of song. Watch the video below:
